  3. I'd like to thank you for your support.  I would also like to apologize for not
  4. producing this and other releases sooner.  I am still commited to continue 
  5. the development of Texx.  I hope that you will continue supporting shareware
  6. authors.

  8. I am not mailing this release of Texx to registered users.  There are a couple 
  9. of reasons for this.  First, Texx version 0.3 is still a fully functional product.
  10. I have not disabled any features for the non-registered user.  You can pick this
  11. product off the BBS's and have a fully functional program.  Second, Texx version
  12. 0.3 will be the last fully functional version, barring bug fixes.  I will be
  13. implementing several new features that I will only be releasing to registered
  14. users.  The free ride is over with this release.  When the next release is available,
  15. I will mail a copy to registered users.

  17. I have made significant changes to Texx version 0.3.  However, the changes
  18. are only noticeable in the new features.  To the user, Texx still works the same
  19. with some bug fixes and a handful of enhancements.  These significant changes
  20. contributed to the long time between releases.  Another contributing factor is 
  21. the lack of resources at my disposal.  I am getting up to speed on the resources
  22. that I need, so hopefully, the development of Texx won't get bogged down again.

  25. Here is a list of enhancements that I will be working on.  The first couple of items 
  26. are listed in order of priority.  The priority on other items will depend on the
  27. feedback I get.  I don't know at this point where I will cut the next release at, 
  28. however, I will try to make it worthwhile for registered users.  The list is as 
  29. follows:

  31.      1.  Implement the Object Model.
  32.  
  33.      2.  Implement more of the REXX language, high on the list is PARSE and 
  34.           external functions.
  35.  
  36.      3.  Implement some form of I/O.
  37.  
  38.      4.  Implement XCMD's and XFCN's.  I'll also be looking at AppleScript and
  39.           hopefully implement support for AppleScript externals.  As soon as
  40.           I can afford a copy of Frontier, I'll also look at supporting Frontier 
  41.           externals.
  42.  
  43.      5.  Implement the full suite of REXX built-in functions.
  44.  
  45.      6.  Implement Mac environment specific functions.
  46.  
  47.      7.  Implement networking support.
  48.  
  49. The Object Model implementation will be the highest priority.  Adding more
  50. of the REXX language will remain a high priority.  If you have some suggestions,
